For nearly 5 years, we operated locally as G&P Capital Limited. G&P due to our association with the G&P Group (Griffiths & Partners Attorneys). However, when Griffiths & Partners became a part of Dentons, we felt it was a good time to re-brand and branch out on our own. So, at the end of quarter 2 of this year, we became Portico Capital Partners (TCI) Ltd and our fund became Portico Mortgage Fund (TCI) Ltd.
What are the Changes Clients Can Expect
This re-branding has more to do with the direction of the company than major internal changes. All our directors remain the same, we still use the same accountants and same legal team. Other than a different name on their statements, clients will not notice much change, however we plan expansion and growth in the next few years to assist more borrowers and investors.
As well as changing the sign on the door, we have changed the location of the door. We have now moved from the Denton’s law office location to our own space in Grace Bay, at The Hub (Allegro Road). This location is ideal to give us easier access to the people we deal with most, whether it be borrowers, investors, or referral sources in the industry.
What is the New Direction?
The new direction we discussed above, is simply the next stage of growth for the company. After a very successful first 5 years of operation, we now need to look toward the next 5 years. In the short term, the company is looking at setting up a second fund in the Cayman Islands. This would give not only our local investors an opportunity to diversify their savings, but to also attract Cayman investors for both the new fund as well as our existing fund here in TCI.
